Branches is a gratitude journal that grows into a tree, one leaf per entry.
Email [email protected] and I’ll get back to you. It helps to say which device you’re on and which version of the app.
Frequently asked
- Where are my past entries?
- Beneath the ground. Swipe up from the tree, or tap the leaf count under it, and History opens: every entry, gathered by month.
- How do I edit or delete an entry?
- In History, touch and hold the entry. Choose Edit to change the words, or Let This Leaf Fall to delete it. A fallen leaf’s words are gone for good; the rest of the tree keeps its shape.
- Can I write more than one thing a day?
- Yes. Each entry is its own leaf, up to 500 characters. A day turns over at 4 a.m., so something written after midnight still counts toward the evening before.
- How do I turn on the reminder?
- At the bottom of History, under A gentle reminder, turn on Every evening and pick a time. If notifications are off for Branches, the app says so and links to Settings. A day you’ve already written gets no reminder.
- Can I export what I’ve written?
- Yes. At the bottom of History, under Your words, tap Keep a copy. You get a plain-text file of every entry, dated, to save or send wherever you like.
- Does it work offline?
- Always. Branches never needs a connection.
- Does it sync between my devices?
- No. Entries are stored on each device separately. They are part of your device’s own backup, so restoring a backup to a new iPhone brings them with it.
- What does a tip get me?
- Nothing but thanks. Branches has no paid features, and every part of it is free. A tip can be left as often as you like, and Apple handles the payment.
